This artwork was commissioned by Martin Ireson of Swindon. An established amateur painter himself. We regularly visit the gardens in Penzance. The idea was to unlock the detailed secrets of the
statue which have been viewed many hundreds of times, but never actually seen. The patina is very shiny, being lacquered many times masking the actual detail. This sketch reveals all to the viewer. The sea creatures used as ornamental water fountains. The turtle and the child sculptures which are repeated on all sides. A very happy client. Finally gets to see the content.
Drawn with 2B pencil on weighted paper.
